to Western Loudoun County
Laced with sprawling horse farms and world renowned equestrian centers, western Loudoun County is home to annual races, steeplechase events, and fox hunts, as well as hobby riders and farms and beautiful wide open spaces.
Established in 1758, the town of Leesburg survived the Civil War with many nearby battles and became a popular stop for railway travelers from Washington DC in the late 1880s. The Loudoun County Courthouse seen here was built in 1895 and continues to serve as the seat of government for Loudoun County today.
of historical prominence
With a moderate climate and gentle sloping hills western Loudoun County has established itself as a prominent wine producing region on the east coast. Loudoun is home to more than forty wineries and tasting rooms, each with unique varietals and entertainment opportunities. Seen here is the view from Bluemont Vineyard, just a few miles west of Carrington’s Black Oak Creek community.
Carrington Homes communities in western Loudoun are conveniently located with access to major commuting routes, Dulles International Airport, and the Dulles/Reston High Tech corridor. Shopping, dining, entertainment, and major professional and technical service businesses are minutes away.
Loudoun County encompasses a 520 square mile area, of which roughly 75% of the land area is considered western County while the vast majority of the population resides in eastern Loudoun. This means western Loudoun County maintains a rural, pastoral environment dotted with historic manor homes, original general stores, and thousands of acres of land protected eternally by conservation easements.
Seen here is Oatlands Plantation, a mansion built in 1804 by George Carter. Oatlands is a National Historic Landmark and one of several historic properties throughout western Loudoun County, dozens of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Carrington philosophy is to design and build homes with the quality, integrity, and architectural detailing found only in custom homes.
The Carrington team takes the time to collaborate with each buyer to customize floor plans and exteriors to meet each homebuyer’s individual and lifestyle needs. Carrington uses high quality materials including HardiePlank siding, Cushwa moulded brick, Luck Stone real quarry material, and standing seam metal accents to make sure a Carrington home looks and functions as well on the day it is built as it does many years after. Carrington Homes provides a very personalized home buying experience that begins with the first visit to a Carrington model home through design collaboration and completion.
With over a dozen distinct models, all with at least four varied elevations with unique architectural details such as roof lines, entry features, and porches, Carrington homes create a visually interesting custom home streetscape where each home is unique and eye-catching.
Carrington homes are designed by an award winning architect who specializes in custom homes. The plans are refreshingly unique yet traditional, and each model is created with a distinctive floor plan and set of elevations. Carrington homes are rich in architectural details and highly functional for today’s busy lives. Carrington homes are complex and require more time and skill to build than production homes where construction speed and simple design are important. Carrington trade partners are selected on their ability to build homes of high quality.
Carrington homes are one of a kind and the sales per year are limited in order to control quality and give each home and its buyers the attention they deserve. By limiting the number of homes built per year, a Carrington home has the potential to have a higher investment value at time of resale.
